Jane Delk Batten, 93, of Smithfield, passed away on Dec. 9, 2020.

Mrs. Batten was the daughter of the late William Merit Delk and Emma Presson Delk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tazwell Petron “Pete” Batten Jr. She is survived by her sons, Lindy Wayne Batten (Marie) and Mitchell Delk Batten (Janet); grandchildren, Kimberley, Kevin (Charlie) and Shelley B. Cofer (Billy); and great-grandchildren, Emma, Will and Anna.

Mrs. Batten was the oldest living member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church and the Women on Missions. She loved her church family and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved to cook and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, in Mill Swamp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Mill Swamp Baptist Church, 6329 Mill Swamp Road, Ivor, VA 23866. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
