Surry County’s Board of Supervisors will consider giving bonuses to its employees.

If approved at a virtual meeting set for 7 p.m. Dec. 17, full-time employees would receive $600 and part-time employees would receive $300 “in recognition of their hard work and dedication.”

As part of the draft ordinance explaining and authorizing the expenditure, “the board does hereby acknowledge and publicly thank the employees for the enormous work they individually and collectively provide to address the ever expanding welfare, safety and quality of life needs of the residents, businesses and taxpayers” in Surry, according to information in the supervisors’ most recent meeting agenda package.
