Smithfield resident graduates from James Madison University
Kyle McPherson, of Smithfield, graduated with a degree in individualized study from James Madison University during commencement exercises Dec. 19, 2020.
McPherson was among 973 students who received undergraduate, master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
Three make Dean’s List at Bridgewater
The Dean’s List for the fall semester at Bridgewater College has been announced by Dr. Leona A. Sevick, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Students on the Dean’s List have attained a 3.4 or better grade point average of a possible 4.0. Any student who earned all A’s for a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the 15-week semester is identified with an asterisk by the student’s name.
The following students from Smithfield have excelled academically:
- Grace E. Garner, a first-year majoring in music
- Brooke N. Locascio, a senior majoring in biology
- Harrison W. Senter, a junior majoring in biology
Hedgepeth named to Dean’s List
Eastern Mennonite University recently recognized 336 students who were named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List.
Skylar Hedgepeth, a liberal arts, elementary education licensure, PreK-6 major from Smithfield, was among the honorees.
The Dean’s List, compiled at the end of each term, includes degree-seeking students who achieve a semester GPA of at least 3.75 with no withdrawn, incomplete or failing grades for 12 semester hours of standard grades.
