Little Theatre announces season changes

Smithfield’s Little Theatre recently announced changes to its seasonal performance schedule.
“As we navigate through the governor’s executive orders, the requirements of our publishing companies, and the schedules of cast and crew members, we do not want to overlook the health, well being, and comfort of our members and loyal patrons. Therefore, we are forced to make changes to our normal season,” the theatre’s board of directors said in a recent statement.
In response to COVID-19, the winter performance of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” is canceled, and the spring performance of “The Sound of Music” is postponed and will be performed at a later date. Two other planned shows — “Hands on a Hard Body” and “Clue: On Stage” — will also be produced later.
The theatre said anyone with questions may email tickets@smithfieldlittletheatre.org. Future theatre-related updates will primarily come through email; the box office may also be reached at 757-357-7338.
“Live theater is here to entertain you, comfort you, and give you a moment to step away from the daily humdrums and problems we all face,” the theatre said. “Whether it’s on stage, behind the scenes, or seated in the audience, with your cooperation and patience, we can all hopefully soon return to enjoying SLT.”
