Rue Mitchell Roberts Briley, 85, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Simpkins Alonzo Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Buck Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Briley. Mrs. Briley is survived by her daughters, Brenda B. White and Rhonda B. Ritter (Gino); son, Kenneth “Keith” Lee Briley Jr. (Candace); grandchildren, Angela, Daniel, Chris, Jon (Jennifer), Gavin, Logan, Finn and Eva; great-grandchildren, Devan, Mathew and Breanna; and a brother, Jimmy Earl Roberts. She was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church. She retired from the Hampton Schools food services.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, in St. Luke’s Memorial Park, Smithfield.
