Surry County residents and visitors are encouraged to visit local restaurants on March 25 and March 26.

On that weekend, the county’s economic development team is encouraging citizens and guests to the area to show their support for local restaurants and businesses that offer lunch and dinner items by dining out or ordering take out.

“The restaurant and tourism industries have suffered greatly in our region during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Yoti Jabri, Surry’s economic development director, said in an announcement. “This event is a great opportunity for our residents and visitors to try our delicious restaurants that Surry County has to offer.”

Eight businesses are participating. Many are offering dine in, take out or curbside service upon request.

“Surry County has great options to offer our residents and visitors, from fine dining establishments to ‘to-go’ options. We encourage our businesses to adhere to Virginia Health Department guidelines to offer a safe and enjoyable experience,” said David Harrison, Surry’s deputy county administrator.
