Pastor Donald E. Watkins, 93, of Smithfield, entered through the gates of Heaven on April 12, 2021.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Donald retired from the U.S. Postal Service and as pastor of Smithfield Assembly of God Church after serving for 42 years. Pastor Watkins was predeceased by his wife, Olivia Manning Watkins, who was the love of his life. He was also predeceased by his father, John Watkins and mother, Pauline W. Watkins, and his brothers, Allen and Jack (Elizabeth). He is survived by his son, Donald E. Watkins Jr. (Cathy); grandchildren, Tracy Watkins Williamson (Greg), Donald Christopher Watkins (Courtney), Meggan Hall, Shannon Hall (Dawn); numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. We will miss this man who loved God with all of his heart, all people, and his family.
