Reject in-school vaccine clinics

Editor, The Smithfield Times:

In the Friday, April 30, press briefing, Virginia Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula stated that state officials would be meeting with Virginia school superintendents over the coming week about the possibility of in-school COVID vaccination clinics in middle and high schools for students.

I would like our entire school board and Superintendent Dr. James Thornton to be aware that I find this to be a repugnant idea. The choice for whether or not a child receives said vaccine should be made solely by the parent, and the child should not feel peer pressure from other students and teachers to take this experimental, emergency-use-only authorized biologic.
