Edward Oliver Cromwell Sr., 87, passed away on Tuesday morning June 8, 2021. Ed was born on Sept. 12, 1933. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Samuel Cromwell and Alvina Cromwell; sister, Christine Fowler; son, James Cromwell; stepsons, Alan and Steven Trudy.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Cromwell; his Lhasa Apso, Smokey; son, Edward Cromwell Jr.; daughter-in-law, Monica Cromwell; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved with his family to Hampton in 1972. He was a supervisor at Newport News Shipbuilding for 20 years and retired 1995. He was most recently employed with Admiral Security. Ed’s biggest joy was his family, and spending time on the water in his beloved boat.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and offer condolences.
