Charles Augustus Pittman, 87, of Elberon, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

He was the son of the late Charlie Junis Pittman and Mary Angeline Munford Pittman. Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Anne Carroll Pittman; sons, Charles Michael Pittman (Heidi); Steven Carroll Pittman (Emily); grandchildren, Stephanie, Chris, Elizabeth and Sam; great-grandchildren, C.J. and Alyssa; sister, Joyce Kalieta (Bill); brother, Walter Pittman (Alice); sister-in-law, Rae Pittman. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Wells, and a brother, Otis Pittman.

Mr. Pittman was a lifelong farmer who owned and operated Itata Farms until his retirement. Along with his sons and grandchildren, he raised corn, wheat, soybeans and especially loved growing peanuts and raising cows. He was a member of Moore Swamp Baptist Church and a past member of Ivor Community Hunt Club.

“Paw Paw, you were the definition of a man, your lessons and knowledge will be passed on through this family for generations to come! There will never be a seed put in the ground or a cow sold on Itata Farms that hasn’t been impacted by you! You will be missed dearly by many; love you, Paw Paw.”
