Charles Brian “Fuzzy” Gwaltney passed from this life to meet his savior on July 29, 2021, at the age of 67.

He was born Dec. 12, 1953, to Jack Gwaltney and Thelma Purdie Gwaltney.

He grew up in Isle of Wight County and graduated from Smithfield High School June 5, 1972. Life circumstances made him move in 1981 to Rincon, Georgia, where he worked for Dixie Power Systems as a diesel mechanic.

In 1986, he went to work for Georgia Pacific/Fort Howard and worked there until his death.

He was an active member of Grace Community Church in Rincon.

Fuzzy is survived by his wife, Darla, and children, Shanan Gibson (Jim), Tory Tomberlin (Zad); and three grandchildren Elly, Ty and Gibby Tomberlin.

In addition, he is survived by siblings Vernon Gwaltney (Janet), Lynn Gwaltney Stallings (Johnny), Donald Gwaltney (Lois) and Irie Gwaltney Palagyi (Dave).

A gathering was held July 17, 2021, at Grace Community Church, where friends and family gathered with Fuzzy to honor him and his life.

No service to be held after passing.
