William “Billy” Carter Jr., 77, died April 11, 2021. A native of Rescue, he was a retired diesel mechanic with Western Branch Diesel in Portsmouth. Billy loved woodworking, camping and riding his motorcycle.

Billy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty L. Carter; parents, William F. and Helen Preston Carter; two daughters, Pamela Brock (Guy) and Dawn Carter (John Tessier); sister, Linda Carter Farmer; two brothers, Donald Carter (Lynda) and Michael Carter (Ann); four grandchildren, Brandon Brock, Allison Brock, Jordan Brock and Madison Tessier; and one great-grandchild, Harleigh Driggers.

A celebration of life was held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at 21111 Rescue Road, Rescue.
