Valerie Elizabeth “Val” Dennis, 52, passed away Aug, 29, 2021, in Durango, Colorado. Val was born in California and was raised in Blackwell, Texas. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Myrle Thompson, of Windsor.

Val was a Navy veteran and a seasonal office hostess at the Silverton Lakes RV Resort and a bartender at the Golden Block Brewery and Pizzeria in Silverton, Colorado.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Greg Dennis; one daughter, Victoria Elizabeth “Tori” Saunders (Jeffrey), of Sedley; two sons, Justin Thompson Whittney, of Texas, and Boyce Townsend, of Battery Park; Greg’s five children, Paul Dennis, Sean Dennis, Brittany Wilson, Amber Dennis and Caleb Dennis; three brothers, Stephen, Clark and Mark Thompson; nine grandchildren with the 10th one on the way; and her former husband, William Dean Townsend.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, in Wright Funeral Home with Bishop Roger Holland officiating. Memorial donations may be made to gofund.me/de5e6ffd. wrightfuneralhome.org.
