The Smithfield Rotary Club has donated $1,000 to the Rotary Club in Mayfield, Kentucky, which was devastated by a tornado earlier this month.

The Smithfield club also challenged fellow clubs in Rotary District 7600 to match the donation.

Mayfield is the county seat of Graves County, Kentucky, where more than 20 people died in the Dec. 11 storm that battered four states.
