Virginia Tech announces Dean’s List

Three Smithfield residents were among Virginia Tech students named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester.

Vaughn M. Briggs, a senior majoring in meteorology in the College of Natural Resources and Environment, and Kelsey G. Briggs, a sophomore majoring in professional and technical writing in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, made the Dean’s List.

They are the children of Lynn and Robb Briggs of Smithfield.

Katherine R. Henk, a senior majoring in civil engineering in the College of Engineering, also made the Dean’s List.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

SNHU announces President’s List

Southern New Hampshire University announced the following students were named to the Fall 2021 President’s List:

  • Dawson Meidel, of Smithfield
  • Matthew Robbins, of Zuni

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in the fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.

 

Lujan named to SNHU Dean’s List

Bridget Lujan, of Smithfield has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Fall 2021 Dean’s List.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in the fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.

 

Radford University releases Dean’s List

Radford University has released its Dean’s List for Fall 2021. Appearing on the Dean’s List is the most prestigious academic recognition Radford University students can receive for their performance during a semester.

Students will be placed on the Dean’s List if they meet four specific criteria. They must have 12 semester hours of coursework graded A-F; earn GPAs of at least 3.4 for all courses not graded on a pass-fail basis; obtain no grade lower than “C”; and no incomplete grades.

The following students were included on the Fall 2021 Dean’s List:

  • Amari Graham, criminal justice major from Smithfield
  • Christine Hallinger, dance major from Smithfield
  • Elizabeth Kelly, interdisciplinary studies major from Smithfield
  • Madisyn McCoole, nursing major from Carrollton
  • Christiana Rolack, sociology major from Ivor

 

Harvey named to Hollins University Dean’s List

Hollins University named Kristina Harvey, of Carrollton, to Dean’s List honors during the fall 2021 semester. To attain this distinction, students must earn at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 grading scale.

 

JMU announces fall 2021 graduates

James Madison University announced the following students who graduated during the December 2021 commencement exercises.

  • Madison Wells, of Smithfield, who graduated with a degree in health sciences.
  • Victoria McBee, of Windsor, who graduated with a degree in health sciences.
  • Nicholas Adams, of Carrollton, who graduated with a degree in music.
  • Morgan Riddle, of Carrollton, who graduated with a degree in nursing.

 

Belmont University announces Dean’s List

Christopher Pope, of Smithfield, was named to the Dean’s List at Belmont University for the Fall 2021 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours (exclusive of audit and pass/fail courses this semester) and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C (inclusive of audit, pass/fail courses and zero-credit courses).
