VDOT seeks input on Route 17

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking public input via an online survey on ways to enhance safety and preserve capacity on Route 17 in Isle of Wight County and the city of Suffolk without large-scale widening of the roadway.

This is the third and final survey created to gather feedback on recommendations to improve travel conditions, and is specifically focused on the portion of Route 17 in Isle of Wight County from the Suffolk city line to the highway’s intersection with Route 258 (Brewer’s Neck Boulevard). Public input was first solicited in fall 2020 with an online survey specific to Isle of Wight, followed by another earlier this winter concerning the College Drive corridor in Suffolk.

The latest survey asks participants to prioritize proposed improvements. Responses from previous Isle of Wight surveys informed the development of the proposed improvements.
