South Church Street flooded but passable

- Cars cross the flooded section of South Church Street by Smithfield Station May 10. A flash flood watch has been issued for Smithfield and other parts of Western Tidewater beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday and extending into the early evening hours (File photo).
South Church Street remains flooded at Smithfield Station, but has reopened to traffic.
The road had been closed briefly this morning due to tidal flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning for Isle of Wight and Surry counties and the city of Suffolk, which will remain in effect through 1 a.m. Wednesday.
