The Edwards Family Isle of Wight County Scholarship Committee has selected Hannah Elizabeth Smith as its recipient for 2022.

Smith, the daughter of Sarah and Larry Smith Jr., is graduating from Smithfield High School and plans to attend Bridgewater College, where she will pursue a Qualified Mental Health Professional degree. She plans to work with special education elementary students in a school or hospital environment.

The Edwards Scholarship, founded in 2000, is a $3,000 award renewable for four years. Applications are accepted from graduating seniors at Smithfield High, Windsor High School and Isle of Wight Academy, and are available at each school’s guidance departments. The fund is administered by the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
