Isle of Wight County Schools will conduct kindergarten screenings beginning in August.

The screening is open to all fully-registered students who will be entering kindergarten during the 2022-23 school year.

Staff will spend roughly 30 minutes evaluating each student’s skills, and will use that evaluation to build classes at each school that fit the needs of every student.

Carrsville Elementary School will screen students on Aug. 8, followed by Windsor Elementary on Aug. 9, Hardy Elementary on Aug. 10 and Carrollton Elementary on Aug. 11.

Students with last names beginning with A through L should arrive between 9 a.m. and noon Students with last names beginning with M through Z should arrive between 1 and 4 p.m. Parents should contact their child’s school if they are unable to attend.
