Smithfield Ruritans present scholarships

The Smithfield Ruritan Club awarded $1,000 scholarships to eight honor graduates of Smithfield High School.
The recipients are:
- Elise Ring, who also attended the Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts and will attend the University of Virginia, where she plans on majoring in biology.
- Anna Cook, who will attend Virginia Tech.
- Neelie Harris, who will attend Virginia Tech.
- Austin Jackson, who will attend Virginia Tech, where he plans to study engineering.
- Carson Smith, who will attend the University of Lynchburg.
- Samantha Hope, who will attend Christopher Newport University.
- Hannah Smith
- Jason Cox, who will attend the University of Virginia.
