Truck carrying cinderblocks overturns on Benn’s Church Boulevard

The right westbound lane and right shoulder of Benn’s Church Boulevard are currently closed near the road’s intersection with Turner Drive due to an overturned tractor-trailer.
According to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office, a tractor trailer spilled cinderblocks across the roadway Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital. The Virginia State Police are now working the scene.
As of just before 4 p.m. crews were still working on clearing the road.
