Smithfield’s Gina Blount Jones, a familiar face on area television screens and billboards over the past decade, will make her debut as a leading actress on stage in “Something Old Something New.”

The play, by Nivlaco Entertainment, is set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Tidewater Community College’s Roper Performing Arts Center, 340 Granby St. in Norfolk.

Blount Jones has worked in the TV and film industry and has been featured prominently in TV commercials and magazines and on billboard advertisements. In addition to ads, she has worked on TV and film projects for local and major networks.  

She has contributed her time to two musicals at the Smithfield Little Theatre, “Hair Spray” and “The Drowsy Chaperone.” She is currently working on “Whispers,” a human trafficking project.

“Something Old Something New” is a story of relationships. Blount Jones’ character, Brenda, will take the audience on a journey as she looks for true love.
