Danette Connell Green, 45, of Carrollton, VA, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022.
She was the daughter of Dan Grover and Mary Connell and the late Theresa Muraszewski Connell. She is survived by her husband, Travis; children, Lana and Colin; brothers, Michael Connell (Diane), Bryan Connell, Richard Patterson (Julie), and Grant Patterson (Sarah); in-laws, Donnie and Jo Green; brother-in-law, Treavor Green; sister-in-law, Danielle Green (Jeffrey Miller); seven nieces and two nephews.
Danette was the epitome of dedication to her family, friends, work, and life. She was the biggest fan on the soccer and baseball fields for Lana and Colin, and she always made time for her friends. Often putting the needs of family and friends ahead of hers, she continually remembered important life events, sending thoughtful notes of love and encouragement, and coordinating celebrations.
Danette was a devoted employee of Smithfield Foods for almost 25 years, and while there, finished her Business Administration degree at St. Leo University. It was at work where she forged some of her deepest friendships, forming a squad that would become like family for over 2 decades. Her depth of experience, driven nature and direct communication style made her a trusted advisor for many who worked with her. She was courageous in striking a balance between working full-time, and being a wife, mother, and good friend to all that knew her.
She had a contagious and positive spirit that attracted you to her, and her ability to love deeply kept you near. She never met a stranger, always greeted you with her enigmatic smile and warm hug and was always the life of the party. She was that spark of energy with an infectious laugh that made every gathering memorable. Danette was a spirited light that was put out too soon, but her deep love will continue to shine through.
In lieu of flowers, gifts maybe giving to The Geneive Shelter, PO Box 1585, Suffolk, VA 23439 which was founded by Danette’s mother, Theresa Connell. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
