Jeanne Carol Heide Crowe, 93, of Smithfield went home on Friday, February 17, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Earl Edward Heide and Winifred Olive O’Dell Heide.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Milton VanBuren Crowe and their daughter, Barbara Lee Campbell. She is survived by her children, Paul Alan Crowe, Elizabeth Jean Crowe, and Richard Ian Crowe; grandchildren, Eric, Tim Meredith, Megan, James, Katherine, and Anna; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Brower, Winifred O’Toole, Earl Heide, and Barbara Buchanan; and her son-in-law Larry Campbell. 

Jeanne and Milton spent 8 years in Nigeria as Missionaries early in their marriage. They dedicated their lives to the church, and upon moving to Smithfield in the eighties, Jeanne built a successful health and life insurance business.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a private memorial service following at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Memorial Park, Smithfield. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
