IWCS kicks off ‘month of the military child’ with Navy band

Isle of Wight County Schools kicked off the “month of the military child” with an April 6 concert at Hardy Elementary featuring the Navy Fleet Forces Band’s Norfolk-based popular music group. Parents and guardians in the military joined their children for the occasion. Assistant Principal Matthew Summit, himself a Navy veteran and musician, also joined the band on stage for a performance of Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”
