The Smithfield Packers Youth Sports 8-and-under team huddles after edging the York Seaford Falcons 7-6 in week three of the spring season over the weekend at the Luter Sports Complex.

On Saturday the 6U team struck first with a 26-6 win over the Gloucester Knights, the 8U team lost to the VA Assassins, the 10U team defeated the York Seaford Falcons 36-6, the 12U team fell to the Williamsburg Hornets (East) and the 14U traveled to Henrico, where they fell to the Central VA Hurricanes. On Sunday, the 8U team defeated York Seaford, which was followed by an 8U contest that saw the VB Canes overpower the 757 Colts and an 8U contest between the Williamsburg Hornets and the Maybach Seminoles that ended in Maybach’s favor with a double-overtime 12-6 finish. The Packers will return to Luter Sports Complex for week four action with all teams welcoming the Williamsburg Hornets except 14U, who will host the Stallions.
