Windsor opened the season with six straight wins, outscoring its opponents 90-4 across those contests.

Dominant in the Tri-Rivers District, the Lady Dukes have achieved 26-0 and 21-0 wins over Franklin High School, 18-0 and 19-2 triumphs over Sussex Central High School, a 15-1 victory over Brunswick High School and a 12-0 win over Surry County.

Though Windsor’s other Tri-Rivers games have been closer, the team remains undefeated in the district with only two regular season Tri-Rivers games left to play.

BOYS SOCCER

The Windsor varsity boys soccer team entered its district home game against Appomattox Regional Governor’s School on Thursday, May 4, with an overall record of 9-2.

The Dukes are 9-0 in the Tri-Rivers District and have recorded five shutout victories this year.

Their only two losses this season have come in shutouts against Bruton High School and Nansemond River High School, the latter of which is a Virginia High School League Class 5 school.

Windsor is set to host district foe Greensville County High School on Wednesday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m., and then the Dukes will conclude their regular season schedule Friday, May 12, when they visit Bruton at 7 p.m. for a rematch.

GIRLS TENNIS

The Windsor varsity girls tennis team improved to 7-3 on the season with a 5-4 road victory over Southampton High School on Wednesday, May 3. With this win, the Lady Dukes avenged a 7-2 home loss to Southampton on April 24.

The Lady Dukes have earned four shutout victories this year and were 7-1 in the Tri-Rivers District entering their regular season finale Thursday, May 4, against visiting Greensville County.

BASEBALL

The Windsor varsity baseball team held an 8-7-1 record, including a 6-3 mark in the district, as it went into its Thursday, May 4, road game against Surry County.

Though the Dukes have experienced two strings of losses this season, they built an outstanding foundation to start the year, opening with a five-game winning streak, including three shutouts in which they outscored their opponents a combined 49-0.

Windsor closes its regular season next week with a 5 p.m. road game against Amelia County High School on Monday, May 8, and a 4:30 p.m. home game against Greensville County on Thursday, April 11.
