Emory Jackson Austin, 92, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023. He was the son of the late Parker and May Austin and was predeceased by a stepson James H. Stewart.

Mr. Austin was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, Walter’s Ruritan Club, a lifelong member of Sons of Confederate and the Tom Smith Camp. He lived in the same house for 88 years at his family’s Century Farm. He was a very proud, first class, and hard-working farmer.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Pauline C. Austin; daughter-in-law Rebecca Stewart of Smithfield, VA along with several cousins.

A graveside service in Holly Lawn Cemetery will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 2 PM by the Rev. Tim Webb. The family will receive friends at the family’s residence on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 5 to 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Colosse Baptist Church, Stain Glass Window Fund. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel is serving the family.
