Richard Arthur Brown, 76, of Carrollton, VA passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was the son of the late Harold Arthur Brown and Lena Margaret Smith Brown. He is survived by his wife Linda M. Christie-Brown; daughter, Jessica Nicole Darden; step daughters, Angela Davis (Jeff) and Maria Brady (Jamie); grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Alexis, Kaleb, Gavin, Gabe and Will; great granddaughter, Brielle; sister, Mary Ann Matthew (Carl); brothers, Robert Brown (Jean) and Donald Brown (Marianne); a niece and several nephews. Mr. Brown was a devoted family man. He was a true patriot who loved his country, serving in the United States Air Force for more than 26 years where he received many recognitions awards including four Bronze Stars. He was a member of the VFW Post 8545 in Smithfield. He was an avid golfer, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.
