A man suspected of robbing a BP gas station convenience store two days ago is still at large, according to Smithfield Police.

Officers responded at approximately 6:38 a.m. on June 5 to the BP Miller’s Market on Benns Church Boulevard, where they say a 5-foot-10, 180-pound male suspect “conducted a strong-armed robbery” within the store.

According to Detective Sgt. William Wooley, a “strong-armed” robbery is when a suspect uses force without a weapon. Wooley said the suspect took cash from the register, though the department is not releasing the dollar amount.
