Joey Tioaquen, 49, died June 20, 2023. 

He was born in San Antonio, TX and was a landscaper, roofer groundsman. He wore many hats, including McDonald’s. He graduated from Smithfield High School in 1994. 

Joey was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher John Tioaquen.  He is survived by his parents, John Robert and Gloria Ann Baroody Tioaquen; sister, Christy Ann Tioaquen Wilkinson of Surry County, VA; and brother, Benjamin S. Tioaquen of Springfield, TN; five nephews; and many extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23, at 12 PM at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, North Suffolk.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour before the service and other times at the residence, 17709 Bowling Green Road, Smithfield.  Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  www.SturtevantFH.com
