Kevin Michael Segner, 65, passed away July 25th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at the Sentara Williamsburg hospital. Kevin was born on January 16th, 1958 to Jean and Jerry Segner in Altoona, Pennsylvania.  He was the youngest of 6 children, and after moving to Virginia, met and married his best friend of 36 years, Alisa Segner.  He had a passion for travel, music, art, and was an avid car lover. Kevin was a lifelong learner, and earned his Doctorate of Worship Studies in Ethnomusicology in May, 2022. Kevin retired from Isle of Wight County schools after more than 25 years, teaching art and gifted students, inspiring them to sketch, draw, sculpt, and guiding them in developing critical thinking and creative talents. Kevin was a member of Forest Famiy Fellowship Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his loving wife Alisa and their four children, Cole, Landon, Morgan, & Kayla Segner; his older siblings, Cheryl (Bob) Krause, Scott (Lou) Segner, & Jean (Cindy) Segner; sister in-law Patty; his mother-in-law, Winona Hancock; brother-in-law, Richard (Tammy) Hancock; and extended family to include cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Jean Segner, his siblings Jerry and Patrick Segner, as well as his father-in-law Richard Hancock.  We know he has joined the Heavenly chorus, playing guitar and singing praises.  A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Newport News Church of the Nazarene, 29 Harpersville Road, Newport News, Virginia 23601.
