Virginia Harrell Gibson, of Smithfield VA, passed away September 9, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late William and Bobbie Harrell, and wife to the late Alexander “Dick” Gibson.  She is also predeceased by her stepfather, James W. Harrell, and great-grandchild, Brody McClenney.

Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.  She was a member of Whitehead Grove Baptist Church, and a former bookkeeper for Maintenance Fasteners.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Cindy McClenney (Joseph) of TX, Lynn G. Branch of Smithfield, VA, and Pamela Nicholls (David) of Smithfield, VA; 5 grandchildren, Amy Birdsong, Karen Wilson, Nikki Leos, Mathew McClenney, and John Nicholls; 4 great-grandchildren, Clinton and Kala Wilson, Jackson and Marley Leos, and Aiden McClenney; brother, Jimmy Harrell (Cindy) of Barbarasville, VA; and 2 nephews, Whit and Stacy Harrell.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2023 at Whitehead Grove Baptist Church, with burial to follow.  A visitation will take place the night before from 6:30 – 8 PM at R.W. Baker & Co.
