Paving disrupts traffic on Courthouse Highway

Published 8:06 pm Monday, September 25, 2023

Beginning this week, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation are implementing continuous, single-lane closures in both directions of Courthouse Highway (Route 258) to accommodate paving work.

Two-way traffic will be maintained under the direction of flaggers on site.

The work on Courthouse Highway (Route 258), which includes both day and nighttime operations, will take place in sections beginning at the intersection of Courthouse Highway and Foursquare Road/Scotts Factory Road (Route 620) and continuing south toward Windsor. Delays are possible, particularly during peak travel times.

Crews will also be performing milling and paving work simultaneously on the following segments:

  • Courthouse Highway (Route 258) from Foursquare Road/Scotts Factory Road (Route 620) to Poor House Road (Route 692) and from Redhouse Road (Route 644) to West Windsor Boulevard (Route 460)
  •  Benns Church Boulevard (Route 258/10) at its intersection with Brewers Neck Boulevard (Route 258/32)
  •  Foursquare Road (Route 620) from Courthouse Highway (Route 258) to Magnet Road (Route 680)
  • Sugar Hill Road (Route 661) from Carrolton Boulevard (Route 17) to Founders Pointe Trail
  • Smiths Neck Road (Route 669) from Reynolds Drive (Route 665) to Titus Creek Drive (Route 668)

The work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. Access to private properties will be maintained at all times. The paving work is anticipated to be completed this fall.
