Editor, The Smithfield Times:

 In reading an article about the almost government shutdown that we just experienced, one fact really crystallized this whole situation in my mind. The article explained that the Republican extremists wanted to pressure the American people by cutting off their paychecks, which they believed would help them achieve their objectives.

Think about this: causing pain for our military, our veterans and an entire cross section of our government’s employees to achieve their extreme objectives.

Truly despicable! Democrats care about people, not about controlling our society or making our valued citizens suffer to achieve completely misguided objectives.

Disrupt their devious plans. Vote Democratic in 2023!
