I am writing this letter in support of Dahlis Atkins for treasurer of Isle of Wight County.  

Dahlis worked alongside me as my chief deputy for nearly 20 years in the treasurer’s office.  During that time, I appreciated her accounting knowledge, her ability to stay on task and taking projects both large and small and seeing them through to completion.  

Her people skills were evident each day as she dealt with customer complaints and concerns that needed to be escalated. I never doubted her resolve to put the best interest of the county and her citizens first. She is hard-working, trustworthy and dependable.  

Even in the short time that she has been serving as your interim treasurer, she has taken the lead to begin implementing some new systems and processes to help continue the progress of helping the office run more smoothly and efficiently. It is my belief that these same qualities and the unmatched experience she brings to the table will allow her to serve this county as its treasurer for many years to come.
