One is never too young to start making decisions in reference to their finances by learning how to prepare a budget, understanding the importance of wants and needs, and saving and spending.

In keeping with the Build Our Economic Wealth sorority initiative, Phi Chi Omega Chapter, in partnership with the Hampton Roads Educators Credit Union in Hampton, recently held a financial literacy workshop for community youth.

Credit union representatives talked to guests about having  “The Millionaire Mindset” and helped them to create a budget using a miniature bag of skittles.

At the end of the financial literacy workshop, 17 members and 42 guests who attended were treated to vanilla ice cream sundaes with various delicious toppings.

Committee Chair Kimberly Hardy-Savage led the event.
