Thomas Byrd’s dream of a community center to bring people together in Dendron took effort. He and Supervisor Michael Drewry worked tirelessly to convince the county to purchase the old post office when it closed. Over citizen and senior residents’ objections, the county, confident in their ability to decide what is best for all, turned a blind eye and ear to the area citizens. 

Mr. Byrd deserves better. The center is community property paid for by citizen taxes. County, return the community center to the citizens and we will be happy to share.
