I am concerned over the recent events concerning citizen use of the Dendron Community Center. 

Thomas Byrd is a leader in our town. He talks to our residents, gives the Town Council updates each month on citizen needs and works tirelessly to achieve these needs. Years ago, he worked and lobbied our district Supervisor Michael Drewry to bring a community center to our town and succeeded. 

At the present, our citizens are not allowed to use the community center. Mr. Byrd is presently organizing a Christmas gathering for Dendron. He has been vocal about wanting the citizens to be allowed to use the center for this celebration and tree lighting, which will occur across the street. 

It is troubling that our community leaders are not treated kindly when attempting to bring our community together. The towns, county and citizens must work together or our county will continue its decline. Mr. Byrd and other community leaders, thank you for your efforts to better our community for all.
