Victim of Nov. 2 fatal shooting in Carrollton identified

Isle of Wight County sheriff’s deputies have released the name of the man killed in a Nov. 2 Carrollton shooting.

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, a 911 call came in at approximately 5:30 p.m., alerting deputies of a shooting in the 12000 block of Smith’s Neck Road. The address is near the Jones Creek mobile home park and boat ramp.

There, they found 30-year-old Marvin Guillaume-Sam of Flushing, New York, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Guillaume-Sam was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News where he succumbed to his injuries.

Guillaume-Sam’s body has been taken to the chief medical examiner’s office in Norfolk where an autopsy will be performed. Investigators are still working to determine the victim’s connection to Isle of Wight County.
