Carrollton shooting suspect still at large

The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office has named a suspect in Nov. 2 Carrollton shooting that killed a man.

Investigators are looking for 22-year-old Travis Wilson, who they say is “known to live off-and-on with family in Carrollton” and “has ties to New York” where the victim lived. He was still at large as of Nov. 6.

A 911 call on Nov. 2 alerted deputies to a shooting in the 12000 block of Smiths Neck Road near the Jones Creek mobile home park and boat ramp. There, they found 30-year-old Marvin Guillaume-Sam of Flushing, New York, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Guillaume-Sam was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to a Nov. 4 news release from the Sheriff’s Office, Wilson “should be considered armed and dangerous.”

“Do not approach or engage the suspect,” the news release states. “If you see him, immediately call 911.”
Wilson is described as 6-foot-2-inches in height, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with a small facial tattoo in the area of his left eye. He is said to go by the name of “Nino Gambino.”
