The Education Foundation for Isle of Wight Public Schools hosted its 16th annual “Students First Gala” Friday, Nov. 3, at the Smithfield Center.  This year’s black tie affair featured ‘90s country cover band The Nashville Nights, a catered dinner, and both a silent and live auction.   In December, using funds raised throughout the year from events such as the gala, the foundation will provide grants to teachers. The education foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds to support teachers and students in Isle of Wight County. In 2022, the organization awarded more than $27,000 in educational grants to Isle of Wight County teachers and their classrooms. These grants are made possible through generous donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals.  Additional information about the foundation can be found at iowfoundation.org.
