2 youth sports teams headed to Super Bowl

Playoff football returned to the Luter Sports Complex over the weekend showcasing round two of the 2023 Peninsula Youth Football and Cheer Organization playoffs with Super Bowl implications for all participants.  

The No. 3 06U Smithfield Packers (blue) team defeated the No. 2 Tri-Citi Hurricanes (green) team 21-7, according to a news release. The 08U/10U/12U Back River Bulls defeated the 08U York Seaford Falcons and the 10U/12U Smithfield Packers teams.

The Packers will have two teams in the 2023 PYFCO Super Bowl next week with the No. 3 06U blue team facing the No. 4 06U Grafton Tabb Tigers, and the No. 3 14U team facing the No. 1 14U Tri-Citi Hurricanes. Location for next week are presently pending. Information will be posted at facebook.com/SmithfieldPYS/events when it becomes available.
