A Smithfield teenager reported missing yesterday was found safe this morning.

The Smithfield Police Department had solicited the public’s help on Dec. 10 in finding Christopher Pelkey Jr., a juvenile with special needs who’d been last seen around 10:25 a.m. that morning on his moped on Astrid Street.

The department updated its Facebook page this morning to state Pekley had been located and is safe.
