If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all my years attending church, it’s that the majority of people are focused on the wrong thing! And yes, many ministers are in it for the wrong reasons.

Who cares what Joe Smith is wearing or the nice shoes? Nobody cares about Martha’s new dress or Billy’s fancy Mercedes.

Worship in a suit, worship in shorts, worship without makeup or worship with straggled hair. God doesn’t care how you look or what you wear in church. 

“Church is a hospital for sinners, not a hangout for saints,” the Rev. Jeff Cannon once said. He’s right.

If all you see is what is wrong among the people around you, you’re missing the whole point.

It’s not about the people. Never has been!
