Wilbur’s work career included 25 years as an electrician at the Newport News Shipyard and 10 years as an electrician for VA Power. He retired 34 years ago at the age of 58.

Dad’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family. He was a very kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed many hours fishing on the James River, especially with his dear friend, Jr. Ledford. Dad and a friend, Roger Moore, loved to annually go to the apple orchards in Virginia to buy apples and bring home to distribute to family and friends. He also enjoyed making an annual trip to the mountains in Southwest Virginia to make homemade molasses. Dad spent many hours watching Nascar racing, he was a loyal fan.

Wilbur and Nelcene were attending Liberty Live Church in Newport News, VA.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carrollton Fire Department, P. O. Box 77, Carrollton, VA 23314.
