Tornado watch in effect for Isle of Wight, Surry counties through 7 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Isle of Wight and Surry counties through 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3.
There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., with a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Some storms could be severe, producing damaging winds of 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph., according to the NWS forecast for Smithfield.
The watch also includes Southampton and Sussex counties.
