Tornado watch issued for IW, Surry counties

Isle of Wight and Surry counties will remain under a tornado watch through 11 p.m.

A watch means conditional are favorable for the development of tornadoes, but one hasn’t been detected by radar or spotters.

The National Weather Service’s Wakefield station announced the alert at 3:40 p.m.
