Editor, The Smithfield Times:

To you folks who were leaving The Smithfield Center after the fireworks on July 2, I am the older feller who fell on his face in the parking lot to the right of the center. I suffered several pretty serious cuts and bruises on the asphalt and opposite curb and was bleeding pretty badly.

Almost immediately, about a half dozen or more of you came over to give me a hand getting back on my feet, and one gentleman gave me a stack of napkins to wipe up my bleeding.

I just want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to give me a helping hand and making sure I was not suffering any severe injuries.
