It is with great sadness we announce that Cory Ryan Collins, age 33, our beloved son, husband, dad, brother, family member and friend, passed Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021.

Cory will be missed each day by his wife, Amanda Collins; son, Jaiden; mother, Lila Collins; father, Chris (Stacy) Collins; brother, Clay (Maddie) Collins; stepbrother, Tim Jessee; nieces, Ava and Allie; nephew, Case; grandparents, Sherry and Jimmy Jones, Rosa Lee and Randolph Barlow; his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends.

Cory was born at Riverside Hospital, in Newport News, on Feb. 9, 1988. He attended Smithfield High School in his early high school years; he later graduated from Massanutten Military Academy. He moved from Virginia to Pamlico County soon after. Cory loved playing sports and was always an amazing athlete. He played football, basketball, lacrosse and boxed. He has worked in the commercial fishing industry his whole life and loved life on the water. Cory and Amanda married Sept. 5, 2015, and he has been a loving and proud husband and father. Cory always had one of those smiles that was contagious to everyone around him, and when you think of Cory, think about that smile. He was the life of the party and made new friends everywhere he went. We love and miss you so much!

Cory was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duarl Collins; brother, Dustin Collins; and aunt, Betty (Lynnie) Jones.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Roach officiating.

The family received friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 99, Alliance, NC 28509.
